For the last nine years, she has been handpicking each and every product, handcrafting jewelry, taking product photos, editing photos, writing product listings and handling social media. She is also the one who packs and ships your order; sends emails, SMS and responds to all your queries. In total, she manages my online store in all aspects. At present, she resides in Thane (Mumbai), working from home, and is a proud mom to a seven-year-old daughter. Besides that, she is a computer graphic artist by profession and have a diploma in animation. She has worked with multinational studios on acclaimed animated feature films. She holds a graduation degree in mass communication and journalism from Karnataka University. She is currently the publisher and editor of a women's magazine. "As a couple, we enjoy short trips as well as long road tours a lot. During such travels, we collect a lot of arts and crafts as souvenirs. A few years back, I noticed that handicrafts, vintage items, and antiques were sold at a higher rate in the online market. That does not mean that artisans are getting paid more. The price is higher because of branding, online selling commissions, expensive product photo shoots, online marketing, hiring a managing team for running an online store and so on. And these add to the cost of online products and make arts and crafts not affordable for collectors and home décor enthusiasts like me. I come from a middle-class family. And there is a mindset that these arts and crafts are only for the rich and upper-class! I wanted to break this. Art and crafts should be made affordable for all. Every décor lover should have access to these. That's why this simple idea of selling handpicked décor at an affordable price took the form of this online store. I am technically capable of creating and handling the online store and not hired staff for the same. This does not mean that I am against entrepreneurship. I might jump into forming a small company in the future. Not for now, I am sure. I'm happy with doing this business with fewer people and limited stocks. I search for uncommon products that are not easily accessible to everyone. I make new contacts wherever I travel. Many such handpicked collectables I keep for myself, and few I sell at this online store. Right now, my passion for jewelry tuned myself into a hobby artist! I am handcrafting jewelry and Rakhis too. I always wanted to provide a marketplace for unique women's crafts. Selling on online platforms requires more time and technical knowledge. Until now, I have showcased a few of my friends' works here. Helped them with creating their brand logo design, product photoshoot, item listing, shipping, and social marketing.
